Faraday

This month in Faraday we have been finding out about ‘people who help us’.   We have had visits to Specsavers and the fire station, and had a fireman come in to show us his uniform and talk to us about what he does.  We painted our favourite emergency vehicles and learnt new songs about people who help us.  We enjoyed role playing working in a library and for world braille day we had activities and learnt about braille.

Darwin

In Darwin this month we have been learning about ‘people who help us’.  We have talked about the different professions and at circle time have focused on the people who help us and what we know about them.  We have a new reading area in the shape of a fire engine and a doctors surgery.  We have also had more trips out for walks and have started going on Friday library trips.

Little Einstein

This months theme for little Einstein was called ‘people who help us’.  We have done painting or collage of people such as police, doctors, vets or firefighters and the vehicles as well.  We have set up a police station in the room with people and vehicles, and a tray with ramps for the children to push and pull the different vehicles and practice their noises.  We also did a board for Chinese new year and the children made their own lanterns.

Big Einstein

This month in Big Einstein we have been looking at shape, colour, texture and pattern.  We have had out shape puzzles and shape blocks.  We have also had a range of shape based activities in the black tray.  During colour week we have had out different coloured rice and the matching coloured objects e.g. red rice and red objects.  For this month we made a sensory area where we focused on textures.  In our small world area we focused on the patterns of animals.
